Interesting that PN will be allocated Platinum's 6923, 6927 & 6937. These were all Fleetline allocated to Quinton which would have seen frequent appearances of the 9 prior to Quinton garages closure in 1997. I seem to remember 6932 may have also joined QN after WH garage closed:

Two of those; 6923/27 started life in Coventry (in fact 6932 did as well). Of the new Platinums delivered, 6962-67 match up with the same Fleetline arrivals in Coventry in 1978/9.

Is 28 enough to both X10 and the 9? I have a feeling the 5 streetdecks will fill the void as they do now

The pvr of the 9 was 22/23 before more recent changes to the 9. At the same time the X10 got extended to Gornal (1 per hour). There may just be enough with minimal or no spares. They'll be t he Streetdecks plus PN are expected to retain some Crimson E400MMC's
