Think there short on Mercs at the moment, at the garage today every pit in the garage was occupied by a Merc with 1645 waiting for a space presumably.

Oh right, well there were 4 on the ramps and 1 was sticking out from one of the bays when i was there. and just as i left 1540 arrived back with an engineer on board.

Don't know why PE don't use the 4 Excels in the Car Park, they look so good and in a lot better condition externally than the Mercs.

It was, but a couple of weeks ago, it spent over a week parked up, it then re-entered service, couple of days later it was back in its "regular" spot at PE and doesn't appear to have moved since.

Bit off topic but i saw a photo before of WN' 4549 working the 246. So is anyone aware of WN ever operating any journeys on the 246 as it was definetley 4549 on the 246.

WN Did board 256/07 which was 256 Art Gallery to Stourbridge, 0830 246 Stourbridge to Dudley, 126 to Wolvo, DEAD to depot

The mercs really do seem to be struggling-b10ls seem more reliable but the problem is that PE/WB dont operate any tho they seem in far better condition than some mercs which seem to lean a lot and rattle and break down. Dont get me wrong Im not saying they were bad buses when new but they have been pounding round the west midlands and black country hills for up to 15 years so really time for them to be withdrawn in quantity

To be fair Pensnett have operated B10Ls before, surely if things were that bad it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to get some out of Lea Hall and use them for a bit until longterm replacements have been found?

I think your forgetting that PE had quite a fleet of B10L's only a few years ago, which were replaced with more Mercs & the B10L's went to PB & WN instead
