All boards were DD today except 120, 140, 243 & one 276

Your forgetting the B7RLE on the 297

Which can't be deckers anyway because of the nice bridge at old hill

Yes i know very well ;) Tbh they should allocate an E200 to it (Either 824 or a spare branded example) as i personally don't think a full size sd is warranted

...yes, the 297 board too!

824 spends almost every Sunday on the 222.

Can I ask, not being from the area and having no intention to travel to, what's the big deal with what operates on the 276?

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Not as such a big deal but the Sunday 276 is usually B7RLE operated but over the past few weeks it has been fully trident operated.

Yeah but I bet there is no specific allocation diagram for the engineers to follow for that route. So surely its just a chance thing. Whichever bus is easiest to get out of regarding depot departure time?

Its not so much of an issue now Id say but the 276 is a pretty high profile route in the area along with the X96, 141, 246, 9 and 222 at PE. The 276 is a pretty busy route especially between Dudley and Merry Hill, often warranting DD for some time and its only until now this has generally occurred. This is similar with the X96. Of course, the 9, 141 and 246 have been DD for a long time anyway.

What was the reasoning behind the transfer of the 43** tridents to PE? Is the 246 fully Trident now? Or does the 276 get allocated doubles now? I know the 53/289 has been a mixed bag recently
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Stuharris 6360

The problem i have seen is that the 276/X96 really need deckers especially at this time of the year, yet last week the 53/289 was using the deckers whilst the 276/X96 was using mainly Mercs/B7RLEs. Everytime i saw a 53, it was virtually empty, surely this cannot be sensible use of the resources. I know two boards on the 53 need deckers for the school run, but surely not virtually every board.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

The busiest part of the 53 route is the old 450 section, between Bearwood and West Bromwich, which can get very busy (probably because the 450 was 3bph whereas, the 53 is only 2) hence the dd allocation on the 83 also. I wouldn't say full dd operation is required, but 2/3 deckers a day certainly help out

That is an interesting question as at the same time the YW Tridents were starting to transfer over, the Mercs for the X96 were debranded, so you would have thought those Tridents would have been for the X96, however it seems the 53/289 is more important to be decker operated?

There was a single decker on a 53 afternoon board once. Only 30 people left at the bus stop waiting another 30 minutes in the cold.

No instead 2099-2103 transfered over too with the X96 being B7RLE operated and thats why the X96 Mercs were debranded
