Just a quick question as i was wondering is the 243/4 commercial or tendered on a Sunday?

it seems that its commercial during the day (operated by NE) & tendered at night (operated by Diamond)
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

In the past, i am sure the whole of Sunday was tendered (although it may have been at a time when the 243 only operated between Dudley & Cradley Heath), can only assume that NE feel that can make money out of Sunday daytime journeys so have taken tham on commercially.

Anyone at PE know anything about the December changes? If it is the 1st December then it would fit in nicely with the Christmas rush if the changes are for this. This has never happened before though but they are all merry hill services so could be possible.

Not so sure, I was under the impression that part of the route on a Mon- Sat Eve & Sunday is tendered i.e. the Halesowen - Hasbury section

That's interesting, if that is the case, would be interesting to see what happens if another operator won the tender for that part of the route

That section of route on Mon-Sat Eve & Sunday has been tendered for as long as I can remember previously at the 609, 417 etc I can't see why is should be commercially viable now

Network West Midlands Website has the 1st December changes up and they show the Merry Hill routes are just timetable amendments to improve reliability. The 222 is having a better fit with the 255 between Pensnett and Merry Hill.

Was expecting more changes than that but oh well!

Yes, this change is as a result of a suggestion to NXOD on this website.

Also, 4353 is in service today on the 246.  For anybody wishing to catch up with it, it went through Brierley Hill at 1050 heading towards Dudley.

I saw it coming into Dudley at 11:10.

The buses in front of it were 4198, 4199, 4200, 4202, then 4353.

Popped round to Pensnett 15 mins ago, nothing new has arrived that I could tell but all the shutters to the engineering bays were down,

1540 & 1541 haven't ventured out & are still parked farside in a line nearest the portabcabins, also on site were 1647 & 1704

222 branded 827 & 830 are both parked up

4135 is in the yard along with a Y-reg trident

Plus 5 or 6 x E400's

That explains 824 and 2097 being on the 222

For what ever reason that 1642 went to WA, it is on the 276 tonight, couldn't see if it had been repainted or not.
