60 school kids on 1517,wheres the decker?

Has 1517 been reinstated? It was withdrawn in May.

1645 has been dying a slow death for some time now, makes sense to keep a better bus in service regardless of whether it's older.

Surprised they held out on 1645 as long as they did, it spent a long time in the dead box at PE a few weeks ago and then a week inside being worked on. Seems a waste of time really especially as being unrefurbished, the book value of 1645 must be quite low. Surely the time could have been better spent on another bus.

The same with 4202, someone said that when it was at BC it wasn't seen that much, seems now its at PE with a new front, its the same, been inside the garage more than its been in service. Wouldn't it have been better to withdraw 4202??

Didn't 1645 recently have a new engine as well? I guess there's nothing stopping Miller Street whipping it out to go in another bus, maybe they should have withdrawn it rather than spending all those man hours at Pensnett trying to fix it

Can't see 4202 being withdrawn anytime soon no matter how unreliable it is, even more so that its had a complete new front put on

Sometimes i think you just have to admit defeat & say enough's enough. The amount of hours spent on 1645 could have been spent on other buses, how many buses were delayed back into service waiting a space in the garage whilst 1645 was taking up a space.

Sad about 1516 though, think the buses in the 1515 - 1523 range were far more superior than later ones.

Think he means 15:17 as in school kicking out time, and agree about the first Mercs, I will be sad when 1515 is killed off, will try and find it again in the next week just in case its canned

As long as 1515, 1520 and 1540 keep going, then I'm happy! 1515 in particular, I wish I could preserve it

Dropped into PE today, 829 is still in the dead box although has now been moved top the end (in 1645 old space). No sign of 825?

4200 was awaiting its next duty and although most of the shutters were down, one was was slightly up so you could see the bottom of a Trident, presumably 4202.

Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Popped to PE today, no sign of 4135 although the shutters were down so you couldn't see what was inside.

Interestingly 829 was parked in the "dead box" in a similar position to where i saw it last week, plus as i was leaving 826 arrived so presumably the 222 was using something else today.

1638 was parked against the back wall with blinds wound to blank, i wonder if this is where buses are parked that are due MOT ???

1638 was in service today on the 53/289.

Rode on 4813 today between Halesowen & Stourbridge on the 9, didn't realise what a powerful bus this was, powered up Drews Holloway only to be stopped at the road works, but still powered away on the hill.

When i got off it and it pulled away, the engine seemed to be making a whinning noise. Is this normal?

4813 gradually became my favourite before I'd even ridden any of them, just happens that it's one of the fastest :) it has been whining for about 4 months now Stu
