I snapped 4888 yesterday, and its for Velo, some nicotine product. Its the 3rd wrap I've seen her in this year (waitrose/just eat, and HSBC being the others)

I saw 4892 BX13 JVH on the X12 yesterday in Elite Sports Nutrition wrap seen in Solihull at about 7:01PM

Probably like millions

Not just NX buses, spotted Diamond's 40838 in Kings Heath earlier sporting this Emirates all-over wrap.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Both 4929 and 4942 have the Velo advertisement wrap now. Can someone post that on bustimes please?

Gareth

Overheard a comment from a passerby yesterday 'oh, are Emirates doing the buses now?'. So they're definitely being noticed, even if it's for the 'wrong' reason!

It's on a bus, not an Arsenal or Real Madrid shirt!

I think they meant overall, as it's not just Birmingham the advertising is at, it's also in London.

There's around 60 buses in London, and I believe other cities have them as well

This is part of a multi-million pound advertising campaign that covers radio, tv, transit stations and buses across Europe.

The radio campaign on its own is worth over £2m over the next 6 months as Emirates position for winter travel business.

Exactly this!!!! Whilst there may be some initial confusion, the bus advert is doing its job, just as the all over Travelcard buses dis in the late 80s/early 90s. Buses are perfect moving billboards, and Emirates have strategically chosen areas for their core markets in Birmingham and London.

Just crunching some basic numbers, Heathrow to Bangkok travelling 02.06.2025OB/14.06.2025IB would reap the following fares (returns halved) assuming a full flight on each class available per aircraft type:

Boeing 777: £114,358 (Econ £407x310/Busn £1023x42/1st £4147x8)

Airbus A380: £189,156 (Econ £407x338/PrEcon ££1023x56/Busn £1023x76/1st £4147x14)

Assuming a £2m spend over 6 months, it needs only 17.5 B777 flights, and 10.5 A380 flights on this route alone to recoup their spend. Big numbers, and a huge contribution from all over bus advertising too!

Autofare 3 - the ticket that laughs in the face of contactless!
