How would the on-demand service be a replacement for 20A service. Cofton Hackett is right on the boundary. You can't select a stop in Birmingham CC area (I tried it I live on the border between Birmingham and Worcestershire CC!)  You can't get it into Longbridge, Northfield nor Selly Oak on the on demand bus.
NXWM: 45,47,49,63,X20
Diamond: 182/3, 145/A, 202
Kevs: 19, 39/A, 55

Quote from: Stu on May 26, 2025, 04:52:13 PMNational Express West Midlands must be scratching their heads as to where these "Many people in the area use the service" are, because their own data says "use of the service in Cofton Hackett was 'very minimal'".

Can confirm, I board the 20A at Edgewood Road and 7 out of 10 times I'd say I'm the first passenger to board the service.

It says on their website that they go to "places of interest" outside of Worcestershire CC, and it specifically states train stations so if they're not offering that then they need to update their terms and conditions.

Quote from: Steve3229vp on May 27, 2025, 04:06:26 PMThe arguement could be made (not by me) that the reason they were numbered X20, X21, X22 was because of routes 20, 21, 22 which run Bearwood to Oldbury which TfWM or NX deem too close for any confusion
If the 20, 21, 22 are West Bromwich routes, surely it would be more appropriate to prefix those route numbers with 4, rather than the Birmingham route number with X.

You're living in the past, route numbering doesn't work like that any more!

Besides, it has been proven that passengers don't get as confused with route numbers as some people think they do.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to QE Hospital | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Wasn't it rumoured that franchising wouldn't let them have multiple routes locally, with the same number, so they'd have to go back to the old system or similar?

Think the recent revival of three digit service numbers by TfWM might actually show you're living in the past!

Yet the reason for changing them in the first place was because apparently people can't remember three numbers.
So either passengers actually do get confused or someone's lying.

I quote the website:

'specific places of interest outside of the zone.'

Which are ones which are pin pointed on the map, Like Clent Hills, Shirley Railway Station, Abbey Stadium and Hanbury Hall.

Seen the running boards from June, some interesting changes, a lot more dead millage on some routes, and some dutys that look lovely and I would love to do.

QuoteWhat three digit revival?
Solihull has 3 digit numbers revived, routes now consisting of such being called 601,602,603,604 664 etc, they used to be called A3 A4 vice versa

keyy927

47 - Birmingham to Longbridge
49 - Solihull to Rubery Great Park
63 - Birmingham to Frankley
X20 - Birmingham to Rednal/Bromsgrove

That doesn't mean they are interworking

The X20 may be on same timetable as the X21/X22 but it does not interwork, it is a standalone service.
