This has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum a while back, but commencing 24th July, the 14 will be shortened to terminate at Chelmsley Wood Interchange with the 72 being extended via Yorkminster Drive to Bluebell Drive, the 72A is replaced by 72 journeys.

Wonder if the later journeys are linked to commonwealth and they will go after.

Interestingly this move allows the 14 to get a (very minor) frequency increase, from 10 to 9 minutes.

I'm not sure what layover time the 72 normally has at either end, but its possible this extension can be done without any additional vehicles used.

I am curious as to where that 1:10am X21 journey will come from. The one coming into City gets there for 12:20am so unless it waits 50 minutes which I seriously doubt it must come off something else.

Also, as much as its a good thing I don't really understand the point of it.

It's possible, but I wouldn't have thought that Commonwealth Games events would be going on so late in the evening.

I was thinking more workers volunteers etc, but having said that they introduced 0100 journeys on some corridors pre pandemic must just be rolling out

@MaterPlan Maybe the 1:00 journeys on other corridors are  working/well used , so they are introducing them more widely to other key routes in Birmingham.

The final ex - Solihull X12 service currently terminates at Chelmsley, that is being extended to City Centre by the look of it and then back to Chelmsley. Could be CG related would be a useful link for evening workers - the last full service from NEC is currently 11pm which is early. Volunteers are being encouraged to use public transport, no parking being provided at venues.

The timetable also suggests the X12 is Acocks Green operated.

Its BC operated and interworks with the X13. Probably says AG on there from when it once was.

A shame there's not a bus inbetween the 00.07, 00.15 and the 01.07 and 01.15 on the 14 and 94. But an extra bus is an extra bus and should be applauded.
I've noticed the 94 seems to have gone down to largely a 12 minutes frequency during the day. I wonder if this is just for the holidays or if that's just another reduction.

A lot of timetable changes are for the summer holidays, and its normal for some higher frequency services to get a slight reduction during this time.

Would love to see more West Midlands Bus partnerships in July changes but they would have been announced by now if any.
