QuoteI hope that all of these vehicles are Euro6 compliant. I'm half surprised Birmingham CC didn't specify for electric/hydrogen vehicles to be used.

(I know there wouldn't be enough availability of vehicles, or infrastructure, but it is BCC we are talking about).
Yes, nearly all E200MMC, E400MMC, a few older vehicles, but all Euro 6

Passed 3 Stagecoach Merseyside E400MMCs heading south on the M6 at Stafford earlier this afternoon

Oh yeah I saw quite a few stagecoach E400MMCs doing some sort of route learning around the airport yesterday.

Don't know what they're learning around there for. There are no shuttles to or from the NEC. Unless there's a back up plan in place for the games on the ASLEF strike day.

They mention 60,000 park and ride spaces. The largest car park in the area is at the NEC/Airport, right?

Also, nice quote from Travel West Midlands also.

Quote from: Tony on July 17, 2022, 03:06:20 PMI've been sent a fleet list (which I can not publish publicly) but a total of 598 Stagecoach vehicles are expected
Good grief....that sounds like more than the amount for the 2012 Olympics!. I know you say you can't publish the list which is fair enough (I'm sure a list will appear soon anyway....), but are vehicles expected from all Stagecoach areas???

Thanks!

This report states that any ticket holders are going to be able to use the whole public transport network for free. I wonder how they are going to be doing the logistics behind that.

Tickets holders and all staff, volunteers and contractors also get free travel with their accreditation passes. They can be shown to drivers, guards and gate staff. Remember there will be 400+ shuttle buses taking most of the strain. My worry is where I work at the NEC. My commute each day could be interesting to say the least!

Somebody was seriously hurt in the M6 incident as the Air Ambulance had to attend.

Text from the article (can't post the link as CleanTalk blocks it as spam), obviously the press can be wrong of course....

"A truck and coach reportedly left the carriageway following a collision on the M6. Police, firefighters and paramedics - including the air ambulance - were called out to the southbound carriageway through Stoke-on-Trent at 11.50am yesterday.
But despite the crash there were no serious injuries. One witness said the vehicles ended up off the carriageway.
Writing on StokeonTrentLive's Facebook page, she said: "Hope the coach driver was okay. Both ended up down the embankment of our farm. Air ambulance landed in our field."
READ: Six weeks of roadworks on Smallthorne roundabouts
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer, a doctor and the air ambulance - with two paramedics on board - to the scene.
A spokeswoman said: "Crews arrived to find both drivers out of their vehicles and on the hard shoulder. Following assessment by ambulance staff, both were found with minor injuries. The HGV driver declined further hospital treatment and was discharged at the scene. The bus driver was conveyed by land ambulance to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further checks."

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from KidsgroveNewcastle and Sandyford to the scene - and found nobody was trapped. All three lanes of the southbound carriageway - between Junctions 15 and 16 - were shut off at around 12.10pm.
As reported by StokeonTrentLive at the time lanes gradually reopened in the following hours - with long delays through the area."

I mean NXWM buses already have a purple CWG 2022 pass button on their ticket machines...
