Could that stop on Momentum Road be covered by an existing service perhaps.
Maybe having 1 80 per hour divert along Momentum Road and Hagley Road an hour to serve those passengers.

I would think that's unlikely because simple frequent bus routes, without occasional variations, tend to attract more passengers.  An example is Birmingham 6, which has recently gone double deck.

The 10 was always decently used in the peak periods when I used to catch it a lot in the 1990s and early 2000s. I always thought it should have extended down west Boulevard and Barnes Hill to terminate at Northfield as would have given a direct link to Quinton there. Even today I would run the route as a loop serving Quinton, Harborne, the QE, Selly Oak, Northfield then back to Quinton again.

Sounds like a decent idea actually, renumber it the 26 and go straight up Barnes Hill and  Shenley Lane to Northfield from West Boulevard.
Would have to run more than the 10 does though.
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

At least every 30 minutes to have a chance. It'd be a risk no doubt but worth a try particularly as a circular service as suggested

No I was referring to the extension of the 10 idea, not the circular one. I think it'd have to go to the City Centre to be viable. Perhaps using the Augustus Road may be quicker too.

The 10s was quite useful when it ran up to Northfield, made a quicker journey than the 27.

The early 2000s it got tinkered with, a lot. That was the beginning of the end for me

Not always the case, high frequency don't always mean top paying. Whilst all those routes support themselves commercially (some better than others) they are not the top payers. For years the 226 was only just about viable with 2 operators on it (Hansons and Diamond) and Saturdays on that route are awful for cash fares.

The now 20min frequency and normal Diamond fares have helped the margins on the 226 hence the new Streetlites. HANSONS notices always made me smile on the 226 they went along the lines of dont even dare to show a WMT Travelcard or Diamond Ticket on.OUR buses they brilliant.

The appearance of new Streetlites on the 226 has nothing to do with improved margins. It was agreed between TfWM & Diamond Bus to upgrade that route with new Euro 6 buses.

Oh yes I agree they came on service due to a TfWM Euro 6 Partnership what i meant was the overall running costs of the Streetlights and the image they portray should be leading to increased patronage and an overall reduction in route running costs which would lead to increased margins in the long run compared with the duopoly previously.
