1667 (48) broken down in queueing traffic on Lordswood Road in Harborne, towards QE on the narrow section just before the baths. Traffic pandemonium.

So that's what the problem was!! What time, Mick?

It looked like it had failed just before I posted LS, so around 15.50. Mansfield truck now in attendance as I type

Thanks Mike, so you can see this from your house or are you mobile?

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

No just taken one of the kids swimming (I literally did drop the kids off at the pool). Looked like it had not long failed when we arrived, and was being hooked up to a tow truck when we left. They couldn't have left that for long given the problems it was causing.

Right on the junction then it sounds. Quite funny to see I bet! A long shot; any pics?

Not a breakdown as such, but 4819 on the 12:05 9 from Stourbridge got as far as Colley Gate before a fault was discovered with the ramp. Passengers had to wait for the next one 20 minutes behind.

Another Merc on the 48, 1589 broke down in Harborne today, on the High Street near the Clock Tower. After a visit by a maintenance van and a considerable amount of coolant they managed to get it moving around an hour later.

About time they called time on the Mercs. I don't recall the B10Ls being this bad in their latter days.

They do now appear to be calling time on the Mercs, but with circa 107 Mercs still operational, it will take most of 2014's new intake to completely remove the Mercs, there are also the B6LE & B10L fleets that remain to consider.

The Mercs seem to do down hill all of a sudden.....
