4569 failed on the 79 earlier. Was the 11:19 ex West Brom, got as far as Hill Top but the engine was randomly cutting out when he stopped at a bus stop. Guy on radio effectively told him to give up and take it back to garage. Driver of 4539 behind didn't have a clue what happened before and that got me thinking... Why the lack of communication to other drivers? Because they're going to be faced with the torrent of abuse / questions from frustrated passengers who have been waiting in the cold and rain for nearly an hour by the time their bus turns up. Also, while I was at West Brom waiting for it in the first place, 4019 was parked up in the middle (actually thought it was going to be my bus, then thought it was going to be the next one when 4569 packed in), wondering why they couldn't have sent that out?
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

Is it just me, or does that seem one of the more unreliable Tridents?

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Last Thursday/Friday ,I think, saw Signature Optare Versa at Solihull Station slanted to one side, as it was propped up by jacks to check the underside or replace one of the wheels. Quite unusual sight, unfortunately hadn't got a camera on me.

I'd imagine they have a contract of some kind.

1536 being hooked to the back of a Mansfield in Wollescote (276) about 20:50 this evening. Looked a bit smoky inside as I passed, but may have been my imagination...
