Caught 80 this morning and driver broke the ticket chute and kicked passengers off at Sunmerfield Park to continue journery and then took bus back to depot.

Surely the the driver could have put a bag over chute and continued in service and refused cash fares.

Confused her, do you mean he damaged the chute where you put money in, or where the tickets are issued from?

Either way, can't see how a driver managed to damage one??
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Thanks for the reply.

Seen that happen before where the money jams in the chute, but usually the driver manages to clear it without breaking the glass,

4848 and 6733 are both currently broken down in Lower Bull Street. 4848's rear registration plate has fell off at some point whilst the vehicle was in service, and 6733 has some sort of fluid leak.

Happened to pass (what looked like) two broken down vehicles this evening!

4550 was parked up with hazards on and rear engine cover open on Yardley Wood Road, awkwardly just before the temporary traffic lights at Swanshurst Lane island.

After collecting its passengers (so had only failed recently), we then passed what I think was 4388 parked up on Yardley Wood Road just before the fire station, no engine cover up, but hazards on and engineer in hi-vis in attendance.

Both would have been seen around 6:20pm.

We did also pass in the opposite direction a 2E and 3E to Sparkbrook on Stoney Lane just before. No doubt the earlier police incident on High Street in city centre had caused some disruption.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath
