And what exactly do you mean by that comment???

@Stu  I find that comment highly offensive as I believe it's aimed towards NX staff who allocate vehicles who are unable to respond. Will you denounce this comment as you did on the Bustimes thread?

I thought veg was short for vegetarian 😀

Surprisingly (seemingly to some people) there are bus enthusiasts who get involved in this bus enthusiast's forum - extraordinary!! If you don't agree with, or like what some people post just move on by and ignore it.

The idea of insulting people for being bus enthusiasts is a bit bonkers in my view....and another thing, this idea that anyone who uses the Bustimes App is a vegetarian (or whatever else the general insults meant by the word veg are) is very silly. I've used it several times today to work out which bus route, bearing in mind the location of the buses, would get me to a well known football ground with the most time to spare...... I did notice the fleet numbers of the buses as well (all electrics as it happened 😀) fabulous facility! I use it in other parts of the country as well, to inform my journey. It was most useful when I spent a day trying to ride on B7 Geminis, Tridents and E400 Tridents for the last time - along with a first ride on a PB electric. It was extremely helpful in planning my journeys around some of the south Birmingham suburbs (strangely there was a wide age range of passengers on those buses as well..... 😉🤣)

My objection with some so-called enthusiasts is thus:

1. They make wild and fanciful statements of "fact" that are anything but, usually pertaining to fleet movements, allocations or deployments, when only @Tony knows the true state of affairs.

2. Their almost rude and bolshie attitude when they are corrected on the above "fact" then launch into personal attacks thereafter.

3. Constant monitoring of Bustimes.org to find something to post then making wild assumptions about what they have "seen", resorting to points 1 and 2 straight after!

I'm a bus enthusiast but know when to post, what to post about, and have an opinion that is backed up with substance or a rationale, not points 1-3 above! I've worked in, and still work with the bus industry so have an insight, though not a forensic one like @Tony has, so I'm careful what I post as fact, or position my opinion as to create debate and seek the facts about something I may have seen or heard first hand.

I believe that the term "veg" in this instance is vegetable, and I can almost see from where this term is derived, though take great exception when so-called enthusiasts then use the term to derogotise a perosn, or function within the industry just because they don't agree with what they have allocated to a route, or have no understanding of the circumstances behind such decisions.

Anyway, must dash, I've got a Lobster Fra Diavlo going cold in the dinig room!

Just seen 3304 on the back of a tow truck which leaves none of the street deck out in service.

Didn't I see a post recently saying it has been inspected and it was just as bad as the Walsall ones. Thought it wasn't going to be used. Sorry I've just seen post elsewhere about it being reinstated.

That was until 1857's chassis was inspected!

I see 1911 hasn't lasted long I presume this has broke down hazards on just after the Bell Pub

Let's deep dive your comment for a moment.........

According to Bustimes, and allowing approximate times for dead running to position from/back to garage, here's what it has done since reallocation last Thursday:

Friday 9/5:  WA4        06.00 - 19.00 (13 hours service)

Sat 10/5:    WA4        04.30 - 21.00 (16.5 hours service)

Sun 11/5:   WA70      09.00 - 00.30 (15.5 hours service)

Mon 12/5:   WA X51: 07.30 - 09.19 (1.75 hours service)

I'd say that's very good for a bus that's 16 years old and run three full days and almost a full trip since it's reallocation. It's mechanical/electrical and even the Electrics and Platinums breakdown and they're considerably younger too!

And I agree to them facts running over 12 hours a day for a bus that old consistently is a credit to the engineering team at NX which have always looked after the vehicles to a high standard therefore that's why we still see Tridents and Geminis plodding along at over 20 years old. In no way shape or form was Intending to discredit that the vehicle isn't fit for service. The point I was trying to make is that it recently transferred to Walsall and that it had some sort of issue which ment it couldn't carry on with its Service today it was only ment as a light hearted joke in that it recently just transferred and it broke down and whatever issue it was it could happened without it transferring garages. Next time I shall be more clearer in how I put my comments.
