I didn't find the 4M that long a route in honesty?
When you first do it does feel like it, but after a number of times it doesn't feel like it.

But again that's why I like a lot of the long Black Country routes, they just keep going and it's nice going through everywhere before getting somewhere lol

Interesting to see a red West Mids Bus advert pop up on the stand C screen at Walsall bus station for Lichfield. It read "Explore Lichfield up to 3 buses an hour..." (i.e. 10A, 35).

Suspect it's popping up on all screens, as I've seen it on the 31 & 32 stop screens.

@Dylanbusboy45, Tridents are the second type on the 51, so they do appear every now and again.

Yeh I just popped it on the end of my post as I thought it's quite significant to have 4 of them all on routes into City on a Saturday. I understand they aren't that rare on the 51 though  ;)

Just been informed of the passing of bus driver and forum member Isobel Gall @Isobel6725 who sadly passed away on New Years Eve after her battle with Mesothelioma.

She will be missed by us all.  :'(

51s need frequency improving. Particularly between 6pm and 10pm leaving Birmingham. Oh so often extremely full. Standing on stairs and refusing buggy etc.
Since the 52 changed the 33 and 51 have seen no improvements to frequency.

Wonder if 6725 gets its name updated?

Didn't the 33 and the 51 get frequency downgrades?

Nope they stayed at every 10 mins. They ideally need to be every 7/8 mins.

I cannot see it going to every 7/8 remember in the pursuit of greater shareholder dividends at the expense of passengers NXWM cut the main Quinton 9 trunk route from every 7/8mins to every 10 mins as well as the axing the 140 stopping service with no replacement resulting in the 9 now being horribly overcrowded now on Hagley Road in the peaks as a result as well as the cuts now made to 12 12A 13 13A so I do not hold out much hope for 33 or 51 getting a 7 to 8min frequency.

Well the X51 has had a few extra peak journeys to Walsall so can't see why that 51 couldnt too. Perhaps part route (51E?) if its not rammed all the way to Walsall?

Yes 51E's to the Scott Arms wouldn't be bad, it would ease the heavy loadings on the 33 between City and One Stop, only problem is the combined frequency with the routes will be lost.
