Well perhaps she just isn't used to B10Ls, and wasn't comfortable driving one. Don't forget could be the amount of rattling she didn't want to put up with, suspension, driver's seat etc. If another driver agreed to swap, then can't really see an issue. I like B10Ls as an enthusiast, but she is more likely not one and just wants a decent all round bus.

@BU07 LGO

haha sounds like a good idea

That driver has been driving B10Ls for a year and a half on the 34/38/39 so I can't see why she refused today? The buses were swapped because the garage gave a "Yes" to her, she was estatic when she heard the approval.

@BU07 LGO Hahaha! ;)

Well perhaps she's just got fed up of them and tried her luck - anyway enough speculation on it now from me.

Yes but if everyone said that, you may as well withdraw half the fleet at the end of service tonight. If you are asked to drive a bus and there is nothing mechanically wrong with it, then you are paid to drive it!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

She may not want to drive it because she is not comfortable driving a bus not used to.
The 4 rotaa rarely gets B10L on while Bradford place drivers are used to and more comfortable driving a bus
There used to. Another reason is there is no destination blinds for the 4s on Walsall blinds

1421 is one of Walsall finest followed by 1446 1447 1436

1475 not so good.

If you read my post above, that driver has been driving the B10Ls on the 34/38/39 for a year and a half so she is familiar of the B10Ls. She just went into a tantrum. She drives on any Bradford Place routes. You're correct about the destination blind, it does not have 'Blackheath', 'Merry Hill', and 'Halesowen'. Anyway, I'm going to stop talking about this.

Forgive me if I'm being dense but is this not a a fundamental reason why a professional operator would not allocate the bus to the service - as it is not suitable (unless it has some form of temporary destination indicator).

It does seem that Walsall garage has a problem occasionally with allocations at the moment - Platinum on a normal route is about as absurd as Midland Red using 26 seat touring coaches on local peak period services in Birmingham back in the 70s. How can you create a brand image with that going on?

1886 on 34. Doesnt sound too healthy. Fan permanently on also

Maybe there is a reason this driver asked for a different bus. For example when mercs were at pl a couple of them had seats which wouldn't adjust enough for a few of the drivers to be able to drive comfortably. I.e its no good if you can't reach the pedals etc. At the end of the day a driver can be expected to spend up to 5hrs 30 mins in the cab so it is only fair that the driver feels happy with all aspects of each vehicle. Whether an allocated , engineer, or any other person disagrees.

@mranon

Exactly what I thought

Remember when 1898 came to YW from WA - that sounded bad as well, so was the suspension.

4776 has been out on 934/5/6 most days the last week. I believe this one is staying at WA as its the college bus

Oh Ok. thanks for the info @BU07 LGO. I was just assuming all would go to Coventry and was quite surprised to see it. That will explain why.

There is a decker board on the 40/41 which is what 4733 is most likely on.

It's on 41/01 board if I remember correctly. Will go on the 89 later.

There are two, 4733 and 4736. 4258 is also on there. Double Deckers are a regular (and often daily occurance) on the 40/1
