can i ask i will going to brum next week and will be paying by debit card do you the same ask swift PAYG and hold it until the driver issue the ticket?

I might and have misted the posting on this if so sorry
Contactless cards automatically charge £2.40 for an adult single. Any additional journeys are capped at £4 I believe. Rest assured, you'll never be paying more than a standard daysaver. An almost identical concept to the contactless scheme in London, with the exceptions of difference prices is all.

Ah, beat me to it, John! :P

If the first bus you catch is before 09:30 Monday to Friday it will charge you £2.40 for the first journey, £2.20 for the second and nothing after that.

If you first journey is after 09:30 or anytime on a Saturday or Sunday it will charge you £1.60 for the second bus.

I've started using contactless this week and it works as you describe above. On one day though, my bank account shows 3 payments, one for £2.40, one for £1.60 and a third for £60p. It all adds up to no more than £4.60 a day though, so all good. It's a very good system and will certainly help prevent holes in your pockets from carrying around loads of spare change.

How does this work if someone requires a receipt?

I understand Contactless is not always immediate showing on a bank statement.

Most things I purchase using Contactless take a few days to appear in my pending too...

On the NX website in the Contactless section.  Enter details of card used and it shows date, amount charged, service and boarding point.
