I think I'm one of the few that prefer the scanias to the Enviro 400, the scanias feel more smoother to ride on and have aged really well and definatley feel like they have more power (once the doors close)

I agree. The Omnicitys are tough buses! They are way better than an E400, in my opinion.

I feel like, for the most part, I agree with a lot of the positive statements made towards the Omnicities. They do feel a helluva lot mightier than the E400s, in my opinion; the main issue which seems to strike all Scanias in the entire fleet (Omnicity deckers and Omnilinks, alike) - is the amount of legroom ~ and general spaciousness overall, in the case of the Omnicity deckers at least.

The large windows on both decks may create the illusion of ample standing room, though, in reality, it does get really quite cramped, I find. This is definitely an attribute where the E400s trump the Scanias; MMCs in particular.

Having said this, the 'real estate' in both decks do not appear to affect the vehicle's performance in the slightest (though, with the earlier comments in this thread, it probably depends on whichever bus it was. :P)

as a regular 907 user I generally find myself on the Scania Omnicitys (4777-4781), they are not the best buses to travel on, they feel underpowered and I know most of the drivers don't like them. Today I was on the 16:25 from City (actually came at 1645, the 16:25 very rarely runs to time, as does the 16:40), when I got off at The Crossways the driver said the driver he took over from said "It just doesn't move !". If this is normal for these Scania's then isn't it time they were withdrawn.
TBH it depends on which one your one. 4777 is probably the slowest. Had a ride on beastly 4779 on the 907, it wasn't underpowered and it can actually move compared to what 4777 is like. The driver even said to me that he preferred the Omnicity's to the Platniums.

Leave our Scanias alone.
Agreed. If you don't like them @Steve3229vp, then tough. NX aren't going to move them just because you feel they're  'underpowered'.

We've already lost 4697, I don't want the others to go - standardization is obviously beneficial to the operator, but it makes for a very boring and bland observation and riding perspective.

They will turn 10 later this year. TBH I can't see them going into Crimson. The red looks orange now.

I too doubt they will see crimson, but I wouldn't expect their withdrawal just yet.  Especially as the new bus intake has dried up for the time being...

I can see all the tatty 15/16 year old B7TL ALX400 and 15/16 year old Tridents plus the rest of the 15/16 year old B7TL ALX400 and 13 - 16 year old Tridents being withdrawn before the before the Omnicity which are generally all still fairy smart (in my opinion) and only just over 9 years old.

The interiors on the Omnicitys are still smart. The paint looks quite bad now. Especially when there is a bright sun shining, they're slowly fading into orange.

Are these still allocated to the 907?

Not all the time. They are used all over now on most of our routes

The 907, 65 and 67 are the best routes to find them on.

Remember seeing one of them on the 77 during the period PB operated the route.

Thankyou @John @2206 @Westy for the information, only ever been on one once before and that was on the 16
