Confirmed, Rotala are closing down their Wessex operation, a deal has been agreed with Stagecoach to take over the remaining tendered services in North Bristol from 2nd Sept, staff notice attached for further info. Bicester shuttles will be managed by Heathrow. Stagecoach will be acquiring 8 x E200's & 1 x Solo currently operating in Bristol.

Given that the service provided by Wessex was extremely poor, this is mostly good news.  Service 506 has improved unrecognisably since CT Plus took it over.  It no longer runs early, keeps to the timetabled route and has new (17 reg) buses instead of the heaps provided by Wessex.

The only problem is the loss of the 51.  Hopefully, a replacement will be found.  It'll give Marvellous Marvin Rees the chance to finally do something useful as Mayor of Bristol.

I saw at least one Wessex-branded bus in Kidderminster yesterday. One on the Ring Road, NIS, and one later in the Kidderminster Bus Depot. I weren't sure if it were the same bus.
