Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Only the tendered journies, which I assume are the evening & Sundays currently running as 99's

It will have no set allocation actually. I've been told by a WB driver. It will get a mix of  E400s, B7TLs and Omnilinks. Similar to the 89 currently.

I've seen a few omnilinks on the 89 on Sundays. But it's solid DD any other day

Does anyone know were the spare Omnilinks will be used, as the 50A/C is being withdrawn?

I always thought they'd end up on the 89, just a hunch

The schedulars are just working out which boards should be which buses, but don't forget the 120A

Just found out that the 529 will have an additional journey from Walsall, 00:20 ex Walsall. Not on the Sunday timetable, the last one is still 23:25.

There will also be an extra early morning trip at 04:25 from Wolverhampton (first one is currently at 04:55) on Monday to Saturdays too. Both of the extra trips being added will use buses that currently run dead from Park Lane to Walsall and Walsall to Park Lane respectively.

My predictions WB89 will use single decks as before when it was 20 minute service and before that the 88 used single decks in the main that also used to be 20minute service.
120A that will probably get everything and anything  on there
80/80A combined to make a ten minute service one would think single decks
48/48A again probably a  mix

Good riddance to the 83/89 city, blackheath version

Wasn't there a plan for one of these routes to have new 'green' single deckers, announced a year or more back?

Ah, yes, indeed. Thanks for pointing that out, I missed that. I assume it is to reduce the dead mileage.

I was thinking double deckers. Saying that, I wonder if they will be required on an enchanted frequency. I'll be very surprised if the 89 isn't single deckers, doesn't need doubles really

I've been told by a driver friend of mine that the 80/80A and the 89 will be allocated double decks with the 120A to be Omnilink allocated.
