Route Branding: Is it better on Crimson or on Red and White ?

The route branding which is now being used on our buses is the best it's ever been, I remember the dark green on all branding and that was awful. I have to say that the new branding on Crimson looks good and professional and is a good image, but the new branding on Red and White looks naff. My opinion is that the new branding should be on Crimson (or two tone blue in Coventry) only.

I'm the opposite, I think it's better on the red / white compared to the crimson. I like the big side number on the crimson but overall I think if a bus has to be branded, it should be done thoroughly like how it was done on the older livery.

Subjective view ofcourse plus I haven't seen the new 59 branding so don't know if that's different.

My view is that the red and white livery should not be branded and should be treated as an old livery. The red and white always looked bland and unfinished and i'll be glad when it's gone.

I don't see the point of route branding. Who is it aimed at?

Any evidence it works - e.g. more people using the service?

I see your point on older buses still being branded in the older livery.

Despite me preferring the older branding, I quite like graphics on the Platinums. Especially those route diagrams showing 902/4/5 & 934/5/6/7 and the different paths they take.

May be NX could route brand some routes which aren't as well used as others to see if it increases usage on the route. A lovely little experiment if you will.

Try rebranding the Walsall to Dudley corridor as years ago both some B10Bs &  B7Lres were branded.

I think I'd be inclined to agree, the latest branding splurge in Wolverhampton is very hit and miss, I will admit the 10 branding looks pretty decent though. Their volvos as well are showing just how quickly that livery ages and how difficult it is to look after, as so many have patches and panels in off colours.
Personally I think Crimson is a big step forward and the brandings look spot on, I just worry that with so many buses being route branded/ticket branded, the novelty will wear off and people will eventually stop noticing as much.

To be honest I think that they are not applying the ticket branding much at the moment pn Tridents are nearly repainted and they have not been branded  or name, the latter being a bit odd seeing how fast BC tridents 44** got named. Quite surprised 3302-5 has not been named either. Needless to say the branding on the crimson buses are alot better than the green dayyou of pass. would be nice if the platinum continue the different colours like the silver Suttons, pink 529s and maybe blue or yellow branded X10s.

The crimson reprints are making the buses seem brand new as people thought when a 57 plate enviro 400 first appeared on the 82/87 last year

I'd have thought it's a safe bet that the X10 will be green again. It's already been posted that routes along major corridors will use the same colour and the 9 and 126 are green.

I think Personally that the Branded Envrios for the 51, 74, Bristol Road , 33, and 35 look better in red and white because of the branding coulors for example Blue for the 51, 74, 35 Orange for the Bristol Road  and Green for the 33 they look neat and tidy. Also former branded routes on Envrios like the 934, 935, 936 and 937 all in green looked good too. Tridents looked good in branding coulors for routes like the 529 in pink because it stood out. Another Example of former branded routes that look good were the Sutton lines in there black branding. Whereas green like on the old 79, 82, 87, 74 and 11C and 11A looked scruffy because it made the bus look old and tired. The branding of routes like the 51 and 74 make the livery look fresh and the bus look new because it makes it look brighter and tidier. Crimson has only got Silver, Pink and Yellow branding that looks okay but you can't really see the Silver or the Pink Very well on Crimson.
