Could be anything from any garage. Big match these next five days. Maybe 17 buses. They will be parked strategically around Town. But will all pass SBQ! More buses maybe added for the evening return journeys...

I noticed a cricket shuttle numbered 501, presume reference to Brian Lara's 501 at edgbaston many moons ago.

Noted this morning on the 501:
4363, 4366, 4367, 4802, 4823, 4848, 6102, 6106, 6107, 6109, 6112, 6113, 6148, 6821.
4737 may have done one trip too.

4737 did as many trips as the others

I think I might have assumed it was 4802 at a glance in that case. I probably saw it more than once without realising.

I don't think it had the destination programmed

That would explain it. I ended up seeing it again this evening and only realised then.

Does anyone know if the 501 actually make any stops en route? Probably a question for the Cricket Shuttle thread. ???
Not as far as I know @CL. I'm 99% sure that the buses run direct from the Ringway into the cricket ground's private car park.

To quote myself from the Photo Links thread; surely if that's the case, then 'direct shuttle', or 'non-stop' would've been a better choice of words ???

I recall the 701 shuttle for Bus Bash, back in 2017, displayed 'non-stop'.

But why would anyone get on the cricket shuttle to get off halfway?

Precisely what I was thinking! 😂 I tried to rationalise it by thinking it could be locals who'd want to board along the route, but surely they'd know to use the 45/47, instead...

Having said that, I don't even know if the 501 follows a single route! Most, that I saw, came from Bristol Road - accessing the Cricket Ground, via Priory Road - however, I think it may have been 4367(?) which I saw arrive from down the Pershore Road.

There was a chap on the Ringway yesterday who was adamant that the 501 ran all day as he reckoned he'd read this on the website. This was approx 1150, 10 mins before the match started (after a delay - the booked start time was 1030) I think he might have missed the first few overs!

Why does it need anything extra on the display?  Inspectors board passengers and if it is not on the bus stop then it doesn't  stop
