Singapore is having a bus carnival today at which their new buses and new fleet colour were unveiled. For those who may not be aware Singapore is moving gradually to a contracted model for their bus network with new area contracts so far awarded to Tower Transit and Go Ahead.

The new fleet colour, voted for by the public, will be green and their new double deckers will have three doors and 2 staircases.

Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Interesting both MAN and Alexander Dennis are making serious headway.

I thought over that side it'd all be the usual unknown brand crap

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

That's quite a bright and eyecatching livery - quite like it tbh. Surprising as LS said that its all UK-familiar companies.

'Unknown brand crap' (whatever that means) like Leyland, Volvo, Mercedes, Scania and Wrightbus, you mean?

Wasn't the Alexander PS body so named as the 'S' orignally stood for Singapore?  And then went on to sell gawd knows how many in the UK.  Can still remember the day Mainline introduced them onto the 93, looking out of the landing window to see new yellow buses...
