2016 will mark the 30th birthday of West Midlands Travel Limited - the business that is today known as National Express West Midlands.

This is quite a big anniversary and I wonder if the company would be prepared to mark it in some way?  One thought would be to send a bus in for repaint into either Metrobus blue and cream, or the silver "Timesaver" livery that was introduced in 1986?  First have a bus in Yorkshire Rider colours and it would be good to see a modern bus in WMT livery.

They'll probably put a '30 Years' sticker on an Enviro400 and that'll be that.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Excellent idea - they could have an E400 MMC in original mk2 Metrobus livery and a single decker (Omnilink) in production batch Lynx livery - would look fantastic!

A very negative reply!

But entirely realistic.
Come on, this is the company that celebrated 100 years of buses in Birmingham with a line up of a few buses in Centenary Square for one day. That's all they did.
They couldn't give a shit about the heritage
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

The marketing budget's finite, and enthusiasts/ historians don't pay the bills.

But who knows, they may prove us wrong.
Don't you start.

ARBB

The whole point of rebranding the company was to move away from WMT/TWM due to bad reputation, painting a bus in 'heritage' livery wouldn't be a good idea. The general passenger doesn't care if the bus is blue or the bus is red, they just want it to turn up on time and be presentable.

That's like saying what's the point of painting into crimson. Customers don't give a shit

I agree entirely.

It also needs to be remembered by some that Trident 4453 is painted to commemorate 100 years of Coventry Corporation Transport.

NX did do the Open Days at AG and YW to celebrate their 85th and 75th birthdays which was a nice sign, so harsh to state they don't care about the heritage. Let's just wait and see if anything happens.

Another positive comment Liberator9, well pointed out.

Far too many contributors to this forum are so negative it often gets hard work to read through them.

I wouldn't say it's all negative some of it is just honesty

So the all the things NX do for enthusiasts are because ' NX don't give one'

Perhaps the hard work put in by several managers ought to stop then. You don't seem to appreciate it.

Try going back a few years when senior management was very anti enthusiast

Ok the farewell day was very nice. But they don't care that much. Why not paint a bus like first did to their e300?
