40 Subsidised Bus Services will be operating on Boxing Day while another 149 are being operated commercially.
Makes a change from 2002 where no services operated on Boxing Day.

How very sad it all is pretty soon boxing will be no different to any other day, it's all commercial greed , is it really to much to ask for people enjoy two days off in the year to chill , Sunday's is now a joke.
They call it progress not from where I,m standing.

Hear hear. How anyone can be so desperate to bag junk is beyond me when I bet the vast
Majority recieved plenty for Christmas. Come across as ungrateful and blatant greed. One day Christmas Day will be a normal day I reckon. Sad times. No defined rest period anymore. Got to work 24/7 all year. That's how consumerism and capitalism works sadly, it's got to constantly make more and improve.

Even more irrelevant now you can buy things on line which are usually cheaper. Don't get the pleasure of visiting meccas like Merry Hill with consumers with the same mindset though!

Do we know yet which subsidised bus routes are running and who they're being operated by?

Brilliant, that's what I did and typed in services based on last year I expected to have special timetables lodged on the service finder page, but couldn't find them! Thanks! :D

Some surprises there, for example does the Arriva 142 service really need to run till finish, when to me a more important service, the 276 finishes early evening?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Interesting Arriva Wednesfield is presumably to open this year to run the services they usually run on Sundays, no real surprises/changes to normal except Diamond running the Hansons 55.

First Midlands are running a limited service in Worcester on Boxing day as well (core routes) for the first time in many years. Very good pay rate but not for me at all! The 144 will be run on a Sunday service basis so another operator into Brum, does seem like boxing day is slowly becoming a 'normal' bank holiday rather than something more special.

Yes I'm really surprised the 276 finishes earlier. It's certainly one of nxwms core routes in the dudley and Stourbridge area.

By the way does anyone know if there are special late services for the midnight merry hill closings?

However whilst Boxing Day is becoming more normalised, this year New Year's Day is IMO seeing a slight reduction to previous years. Not known services to start and finish as per Boxing Day before on New Year's Day. In the most it has been a full Sunday service.
