If you deleted all the BS, there would be nothing in these Arriva threads. Give it a rest. We're bored now!!

Hear, hear. I love your honesty, @Ashley 60171. ;D

Thank you @P419 EJW :)

I logged on for the latest gen, not to wade through rant pages.

Arriva Midlands I know people here do have a downer on them but I don't and for anybody else that doesn't, it's starting to grate.

Looking at the new cannock 19 and 20 route I think they have some good potential

Bob

Its not ranting. Im merely stating facts and asking valid questions. But tbh i dont care about your opinions either so were pretty much square.

No offence mate but what do you base that on? The section of the 62 its replacing carried nothing more than a handful of OAPs, the 34 wasnt a very busy route at all and the 23 that it replaces around sections of Wimblebury/Heath Hayes had needed taxpayer subsidy for decades.

You don't state facts Bob, you state your opinion.  Over and over and over again.

Think everybody is a little tired of hearing it now.  Why don't you give it a rest?

Bob

Its not a fact that three direct journeys are being reduced to two longer ones and this isnt a reduction then? Thats not a fact? Not really taking any notice of you tbf....

A contact of mine said this morning to be careful of Arriva it may look like they're cutting back a lot but apparently there is a much bigger plan coming from DR there parent company.
No idea what it is though

DB are considering selling a minority stake in Arriva on the UK stock market to fund future growth, however I don't really see how that would affect any current changes or potential new competition against Arriva Midlands

Steveminor

The new 74 timetable still puts arriva behind social travel.  Interesting

Ive also heard of Arriva and DB planning some big changes.  DB Are very good at what they do and now they have started to introduce the DB logo around I think there could be some big changes.  The merger between shires and midlands is one big start for Arriva DB.  It will be interesting to see what happens

The merger between Shires & Midlands is merely a cost cutting exercise. DB's profits are falling, debt is increasing & they've lost their monopoly over the German Railways & now face completion from NX &  Abellio at least for new franchises. Those factors would be the main driving force behind any planned DB changes.

On the face of it very little appears to have changed in the UK under DB ownership since acquiring Arriva, however their European operations have been expanded quite significantly during the period though.
