a once an hour ( reduced by half then) protracted route that gos everywhere..no doybt operated by old darts or threadbare ex shrewsbury cadets...lucky cheslyn hay lol

Westy

So is there still a 1 & 2 (or versions of!) between Walsall & Cannock?

(Bearing in mind, I live on the daytime only section of the 2 / 2a in the Bloxwich area)

Bob

looks like it yea. i cant really see how much they can change or launch new routes on, the X70 is just a joining together of the 31 & 70 omitting cheslyn hay & followimg the old 872 through Wedges Mills. Dont imagine theyll do much with the 1/2/2A. 68 is to become 71 with Wednesfield vehicles, presumably they wont give change creating a two tier system. What can they do to the Stafford routes? Or the Lichfield ones other than poss scrap the Tamworth bit ( Centrals X55 always looks much busier from what ive seen). The 34 is axed. Cant see what they could change on 33s ( other than poss renumbering it 3?) or the Pye Greens? I wonder if theres any new destinations planned

covlad27

Tamworth is not being scrapped and is still run by the X60

Ive heard all the route changes have been registered now so hopefully we should find out soon.  Ive heard cannock are having a new circular route.  Route 19 and 20

Bob

Circular? Wonder where theyll be going. Itd be really interesting to see if theres routes to new places but cant imagine there will be. On another note the driver of the 154 on way back to Cannock reckons Arriva have gone round ripping 154 timetables down from stops...Surely if this is true they could get in deep s##t for it? Not the first driver thats said so either...

covlad27

There have never been any timetables up.  Ive been informed new black cases were put up and all the old timetables were taken down by staffordshire council.  Staffordshire council were then responsbile for putting up new timetables to date many have not been done yet especially so through featherstone.  I have seen some at penkridge though I believe which have been done

I dont think the services are having much affect on Arriva they still pick up healthy loads from Cannock and Woverhampton

covlad27

On saying that though if travel have put any timetables into a display case owned by Arriva then they probably have the right to take them down.  I think Arriva still have a Roadside Publicity Van I see occasionally so maybe they still have sine of their cases up.  I did notice that arriva have put up timetables in featherstone again

Westy

Well I hope the 54 & 154 drivers have plenty of leaflets on the buses to dish out, if thats the case?

Bob

Staffs county council taking so long eh...hardly surprising considering theyre a vile Tory authority and are completely disinterested in public transport...

Steveminor

Arriva have a history of removing competition timetables they did it in tamworth to ampm & they were in council cases. Caught the inspector red handed so I removed the arriva timetable and told him in no uncertain terms that if he continued removing ampm timetables I'd keep removing arriva ones. He soon stopped.
I find arriva like to play dirty tricks, but stand up to them & copy what they do then they back down.

Here we we go again with the Conservatives bashing!

Maybe responsibility for the council cases should be with the council, including physical access?

I assume Centro only have access to their cases, so Nx couldn't do anything like that?
