Hey guys. Found out yesterday NXWM hire out buses. So been talking to friends about an idea. We're thinking about hiring a Enviro 400 and doing a few depot's (Birmingham Central (NXWM), Lemington Spa (Stagecoach), First Worcester although could change when we come around to planning it). We would start and end in Sutton Coldfield and we'd ask people to help pay towards the hire. What do you guys think? Would you do it?

Bryan

The idea appeals to me, depending upon when it may take place.

Just a thought, it might help others if one or two other pick up points were made in the Birmingham area to avoid travelling out to Sutton.

Perhaps Birmingham Moor Street and Yardley Wood Station?

From my point of view, I could get to Sutton but Birmingham Moor Street would be ideal!

This will depend on which garage does the private hire and what vehicles are tacho fitted.

Walsall have Enviro 400s, Perry Barr have Scanias and Tridents elsewhere.

Good idea though - I'd go!
Autofare 3 - the ticket that laughs in the face of contactless!

Perry Barr have ALX 400 bodied Volvo B7TL, not Tridents

"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

(this post was referring to tacho buses)

AG 2201/2 & 2120 have tachographs
BC have 6701/2; 4634 & a B7RLE
PB have 4777-81 & 1847 (not sure if 1844-6 have current tachos)
YW have 6147/8 & 3225
WA have 4127/8 & 4737; 4776
WN have 862; 863 & a trident
Two of the 47xx E400s transferred to WB have tachos, but they are not currently calibrated, so cannot be used at the moment
CV have two tridents, but they are not currently calibrated

Trident 4609

4535 is WN's Tacho Trident.

@Sh4318 i think that reads that it is Tridents elsewhere (Other Garages) as opposed to PB have Scanias and Tridents.

Does 6111 not have a tacho? As you did a hire with it when brand new. Been a while since I last worked with tachos my memory of the rules has faded a bit.

No, 6111 was on 'demonstration' to the Labour party and driven on Trade Plates for the day

MrBevan2000

Good to see that people are interested. We will try and get money sorted. A friend has already sent a quote off.

BC's tacho B7rle is 2151 I think. Or 2152. Can't remember. One of those two.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Sorry. I'm just asking a question. I take it as a no then?

Don't you think that Tony would have mentioned it in his list if it was fitted with a tacho?
