I think it may be minor changes in the city centre. It is the only part of the route they all share - that is assuming the changes are related.

5/5a and 10 will be going out of Wolves via Broad Street instead of Lichfield Street, don't know about the other routes.

wonder if they going to number the 141/241 extension off peak once an hour for each to russells halls 141A or H and 241A or H

Would have thought they will extend the service and shorter journeys will get the E suffix!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Or give it an entirely different number to save confusion. Maybe 247 and 147

There's only going to be a small number of journeys, 2-3, that will extend to Russells Hall, it won't be all day.

I think a -H suffix will do the job.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

See the changes have been put on the NWM website, includes

297 diverted via the Trading Estate again although it doesn't suggest that the 205 is going main road again.

Also the 23:15 ex Wolves on the 256 is being extended to Stourbridge with a new 24:00 journey off Stourbridge to Wolverhampton. (44 minutes Wolverhampton to Stourbridge is pushing it a bit)

Plenty of route changes in Wolverhampton

141 route extended to RHH

Its possible due to the 23.15 departure takes 30 mins to get to k'ford and the 00.00 back to Wolverhampton is probably to cut out the dead mileage back to garage.

Will the off peak 141 extension to russells hall run in the evenings and will it still interwork with the 241/140

The new TT for the 256 is on NWM so shows the timings, however no new tt as yet for the 141!

Interesting that they think they will get more cash on the midnight journey than they'd get from bsog running dead from Stourbridge

It is a shame that NX seem to frown on more than 1 garage operating a route, if PN were to partly operate the 256/7, then there would be no need for so much dead running, or operating journeys that have no real chance of patronage.

Yes have always thought that, didn't there use to be something similar on the 53 and 289??

Yes PE & WB shared the 53/289 for a while before they were handed over solely to PE.

Many years ago, the 79 between Wolverhampton & Birmingham was operated by Wolverhampton, West Bromwich and Hockley and the 11 was operated by numerous garages.

The 9 was operated for a time by both Stourbridge & Quinton.

and of course the 556 (256) was jointly operated by Stourbridge & Wolverhampton.

Anybody now why they are rerouting the Wolverhampton routes, surely rerouting them via the Ring Road is going to add more time onto the route,s and make it hard to keep to time. What is wrong with the buses operating to the route they operate now it works.

Pipers Row gets quite congested due to the fact cars ignore the fact part of it is a Pedestrian Zone (Buses only). Queues of buses can stretch back into the station to get onto Pipers Row in an afternoon,  buses were regularly diverted down Ring Road during Christmas due to the congestion caused by the Coaches parking up outside the Grand Theatre (Pantomime).

I cannot officially say if this is the reason why (NX don't tell me everything!) but I presume so through this observation.
