So from all that, it seems that either the databases aren't correct currently and your vehicle (and those vehicles) are showing as compliant when they aren't, or they're using something else other than just the literal "Euro 4/6" to determine the rating.

No part of Newtown is in the clean air zone.

Of course Newtown is within the Clean Air Zone. Centro House on Summer Lane is both within the Clean Air Zone & Newtown.

According to the map attached, roughly 50% of Newtown is within the Clean Air Zone.

Newtown electoral ward, you will not find anyone at Centro House who says they are in Newtown.

Miller Street is, and has always been in Aston, not Newtown, similarly according to that map

Similarly Snow Hill Station is not, and has never been in Ladywood

Depending on the fuel efficiency of the vehicle, double deckers may be cheaper to run than single deckers so the company may actually be saving money compared to using older singles on there.

Also, it is obvious (as with all operators to a certain point) that this was playing 'politics' to get the councils to increase subsidies. This seems to have worked so fair play to Diamond. This approach is made obvious by the fact that despite stating every commercial route was loss making in the West Midlands, there was no major cuts planned to services where they compete with another operator, eg the 16 and 50. Obviously, cutting these would not have led to any increased subsidy being given as there is an alternative operator.

Is 30705 supposed to be working in the West Midlands or the North West?

Bustimes.org has it down as being on the 326 in the West Midlands & also running between Stockport & Macclesfield in the North West today?
