LX08 ECY was my 50 this afternoon, many people around Kings Heath thought it was a NX 50

What are they like to travel on / condition etc? Do you reckon its something Greenbus may go for?

The interior condition was fine, the bus seemed pretty nifty but comfortable. I'd say if TGB can afford them, then they will probably buy more.

I'm surprised TGB can afford such modern buses, I expect Ensign were selling them at a knock-down price

I thought it had been posted that they were looking to lease some rather than buy?

Ahh - that explains it. It will be interesting to see if they stick to the 50 or if they put them on school services.

I wish they still ran the 558, would've been nice seeing an Omnicity in Dudley/Wolves!

I assume they potentially trailing them to rent a batch or they could also be hire purchasing them?

I'd have thought they may be to upgrade the 50, the current school services fleet is more than adequate

I'm still surprised that have launched any more new commercial routes

Well with the state of 114 I would have thought they might be looking at the 50, it was almost bordering on dangerous it was that slow and it wasn't the driver

114 has been like that for ages, should've seen it up the Hagley Hill ;)

I've been waiting since they arrived from Reading for one to appear on the 50, but a day when I can not get a picture, one is on there. I always like to watch the Green Bus 50s for a bit when in Town to see if one has sneaked on there  :D Only once before has one been on there, I think

Are TGB's Spectras allowed on the 50?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Technically no, it is a frequent service into the city centre. The Spectras are step entrance and of course not low-emissions compliant. However the rules state that a non-compliant vehicle may be used in order to keep a service running, i.e. if it is the last resort.

Think its such a shame that the Spectra's aren't compliant, it would be so nice to see them regularly on the 50 or on the 126 from WN.

And virtually al Arriva Midlands Sunday services at Wednesfield using loaned buses from Central Buses

We do not know that they are using only Central Buses' vehicles. There is no reason why they won't bring some of their own buses out too.
