Asked for a metro for this afternoon's journey as Nath was able to come for a ride due to finishing school early, and was lucky enough to get 313 :)

Look out for a Metrobus, probably 313, around Maypole-Redditch area tomorrow ;)

Going back to what you told me earlier do you know what changes are being made to the 50A

Is it a well used route to redditch? Could they be increasing the frequency (What is the current frequency of the 50A?)

Not sure if this was answered before, but the new 50/50A timetable came into force from the 17th June. Basically the 50 has been increased to every 10 minutes, and I have seen Darts being used on it in the week as part of the increased number of the vehicles now required.

The 50A though is now reduced to just 1 journey in each direction. 50A TT link is:http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/chym/FileHandlers/BusServiceTimetable.pdf?ID=1607

People dont seem to be happy with the reduced 50A, from what I heard on the S3 in Wythall. Also there were people in Birmingham waiting for it yesterday so obviously people dont know about the changes - i didnt until yesterday!

I thought Green Bus were intending to extend more 50's to Redditch & take in some of the 57/58 route?

According to yesterdays VOSA, the timetable for the 50/A changed on Wednesday?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

313 was round Sheldon today working AH5 which goes to Handsworth If that's correct :D It was great to see it nothing can beat the Metro's in my opinion :)

I was under this impression too until last week, I even asked a driver on the 50A two weeks ago if the A was staying when the 50 increased and he just grunted at me and nodded as if to say yes...  It's not just the Wythall lot that miss the 50A either, I used it quite often too for Redditch when it combined with the X50, now it just isn't worth the bother :(
I don't know the ins and outs but from a "normals" point of view, It seems as though TGB are getting slightly greedy, first the 64 then 558 now the 50A all so they can flood the "cashcow" 50...

*awaits the jeers!*

According to Matt this did the HC2 from hagley this afternoon

To be honest, you would have to be pretty stupid when you've built up a following on the 50 to focus elsewhere especially when they seem to be making a killing on there

Sh4318

It sounds like TGB are really going for it on the 50. Best of luck to them

With TGB increasing their frequency on the 50, it could provoke a response from NX if they succeed in attracting a fair few passengers from NX buses through either increased frequencies / fare promotions etc

Liverpool Street

Is TGB 50 reliable? Whenever I'm near Moor Street I always see a Green Bus loading up. They must have that route down to a T.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

I'm not saying don't run the 50, I just don't see why the 50A had to go when it was used, took plenty of cash fares and when the 50A can be incorporated into the 50 timetable like it was before. It would also be nice if the drivers gave people the correct information!
Personally I can't wait to see if Diamond come back with something whether it be new buses, more buses, cheaper fares or what, then again they will just do what they did with the 37 and withdraw completely... It doesn't help they have just lost 4 of the 5 Nifty Fiftys!

Yes Rat they seem to have the 50 down well, whenever your at Maypole the Greens seem to pull around and wait for a few minutes until an NXWM turns up, same story in town with them parking up at Selfridges, causes some lovely traffic chaos when Green, NXWM and Diamond are all in together plus a 35 behind...
