I already said that the services aren't being withdrawn! They have already sold tens of thousands of pounds worth of passes for next years services, and let me just assure you they are not withdrawing off the 50

You have to remember green bus school routes do change depending on where the children who buy passes live, so it is very likely once they have collated the data there will be a ruck of new registrations.

Has the Green Bus pulled out of its Stourbridge college etc routes? They have vanished from the Green bus site.

They were a stupid idea though. How they thought routes to a college would work when the whole point of a college is people come and go throughout the day not like school when its arrival time and leaving time-how could you have travel times to suit everyones needs and would people at college really want to have to have the school pattern again which is what the routes would have to follow ie morning and afternoon they couldnt do all routes all day and so they wouldnt suit people

When i went to King Edward 6th form college in Stourbridge, it was more formalised than most colleges, with the day beginning at 09:00 & finishing at 15:30. However, for instance on Wednesday it was sports afternoon (think it still is) with many of the sports taking place away from the college. Plus the college finished at 15:00. So therefore it would be difficult to operate a bus service there.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

wilmotm (Matt Wilmot)

Well Prospect seem to do very well with their Halesowen college service but then that is heavily subsidised I believe whereas with TGB and King Ed's speaking as a student who left just last year it was more of a case of the college begging TGB to start something just to satisfy some silly environmental cause! Which is even more rediculous considering most students already use public transport, the 246!

Didnt realise it was as formal as that but as you have said still hard to operate a service there

I wouldn't expect many people to buy passes for the Stourbridge College services, as TGB set their pass prices high enough that you need to use the service almost every day in order to get your money's worth from buying the pass.

Many students would not be able to use the services every day, due to the flexibility of the hours they spend at college, therefore I expect that not many passes were sold. With most customers anticipated to be paying cash fares, it is likely that not enough money would be made from the services to make them financially viable, especially competing with the 246, 276, etc

Trident 4609

Matt, Are anymore Tridents arriving in time for September (School Services) to replace the metrobuses. One more question (Forgot to ask earlier) are anymore Spectras coming to Green Bus?
