#1125
Currently sat on 205 on 22. Slow compared to our other Spectras but 14:31 & 17:05 ex city, 15:54  & 18:24 ex MH if anyone wants it

(also 114 is not a snail any more)

102 was out to play on the 50, too.

nitromatt1

101 was today's oddball on the 22.

101-105 (I think) are fitted with seatbelts and are usually kept to Schools/Private Hire

Yes that's correct, the Olympians are usually first choice for private hires but 101-107 are also belted and are thus kept off public service where possible. 123 and 201 are also belted. 201 lives on rail replacement though.

Unlike in other companies vehicles are allocated to jobs and 22/50s days/weeks before the job itself. Vehicles are parked the night before with consideration to the order in which they'll leave in the morning. However, the yard is spacious enough that accessing buses is rarely an issue. So if I was at TGB this week I could tell you which buses would be on the 22/50 each day this week, although there is obviously going to be some element of swapping (they are Tridents after all!).

A funny old day on the 22. 101, 104, 105 & 107 are all on (along with 111).

Caught 105 for Merry Hill leaving from NIA at 1330. Already had 5 passengers on :

3 travelled to B Gardens, 1 to B Green and 1 to Colley Gate.

It's certainly picking up.

Stu

I see Tony has already photoed it, but 113 (the KE Five Ways bus) was on the 50 again today (was on there yesterday as well).

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

I saw a bloke chatting to the driver going down Manor Way on that journey. Was that you by any chance?

That doesn't sound very many people for a double decker?

Maybe not but it is the first time I've seen any passengers, except me, get on at the Town Hall and we did pick more up as we went along. Bear in mind the Town Hall is not where people go and naturally wait for Harborne / Halesowen bound buses.

Oh don't worry, I'm not like that! We have some good drivers on the 22 especially now the one causing problems is no longer with us. The drivers all like the route, especially those who have driven the 50 in the past, and the route is starting to bring in some decent cash totals.

If the 22 is starting to show signs of building up patronage, it sounds as though it would be in TGB's best long term interests to acquire further Euro 3 compliant double deckers if sufficient aren't available within the existing fleet & extend the 22 around to Colmore Row and terminate it with all the other Harborne / Halesowen bound services
