A 140/141 running board is the novelty working today.

Started off as normal with 4200 which broke down in this mornings peak
only available spare bus was 1573 which did a 241, then a 140 into Birmingham, and a 141 out to Merry Hill
This has now been swapped with 824 to provide a QPS compatable vehicle in Birmingham, so today we have had the rare sight on both a Pensnett Merc and a Pensnett Enviro 200 in Colmore Row on the same running board.
If it doesn't get swapped again 824 will do the 17:30 140 from Colmore Row this evening

I forgot to say 824 was on the 205 around 12.30, plus there were quite a few double deckers parked up in Pensnett with some E400's looking unserviceable

Slight clarification here being one of the drivers.  Apparently there were 2 Tridents which failed/had defects. The replacement Mercedes 1573 did a part 241 Blackheath to Merry Hill. It then did a 141 to Five Ways only & then a 140 from Five Ways to Dudley. At Dudley it was swapped for 824 off the 205. Unfortunately due the above mentioned rules orders were to terminate at the Ivy Bush so 1573 never made it into Colmore Row.

1643 was briefly on the 241 Saturday morning just.

I thought that non compliant vehicles were allowed in the City Centre providing it was an exceptional circumstance. A replacement for a broken down vehicle would be fine surely?

Also the 140 and 141 operate half hourly frequency so non-compliant vehicles are allowed.

Aren't they on the same VOSA registration, so classed as a single 15 minute route?

Two Mercedes O405N's on WB 5 yesterday. Also one of the branded Plaxton President's has had a yellow line painted on the side. Looks like they've edited the branding for the WB 5.
