Are there any plans for the ALX400s to go? I don't want any of these beauties to go.

For all we know they may well get new next year. It wouldn't be impossible for Dundee Geminis to come down here to see the presidents off at AG would it in exchange for a new batch of deckers, just a thought.

I was in Dundee yesterday and there are a lot of older vehicles running around in all day service P&R single decks and cast of decker's and solos from down here.

There is a lot higher proportion of older vehicles in Dundee's fleet than in the West Midlands, there are as follows:

2 x T-reg Solo
6 x P-reg B10L
9 x R-reg B10BLE
14 x V-reg B10BLE
16 x V & W-reg B7TL/Presidents

Dundee currently has 113 buses, of which 47 will be 15 years old & older next year (41% of the fleet). They must also now be due a sizeable batch of new vehicles during 2015

Plus 7067 Y722CJW which is pretty non-standard and not exactly new...

There is that, but if you're going to include that, there also the 2 x 51 plate & 2 x 02 plate Solo's as well.

The original announcement when the deal was done with ADL for 500 new buses over five years did say that this figure included Dundee too.

So its fair to assume that Dundee will see more new buses in the near future, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a few cascades also.

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Stu, it was 600 new buses. I agree Dundee will no doubt get newer cascades for Fife schools in the medium term etc

There are actually two T-reg Solos

I printed off all the statements about the Alexander-Dennis £100m order and have reread them, the figures for the deliveries just don't tie up with the interim statement issued by NX.

Yes Keiwii, I missed 0298 off my list, thought they had all been withdrawn

I'd go with the current NX IM statement, most of the press articles were quoting 125 a year after the initial 100 for 2014. NXWM still need to take delivery of another 174 new buses by June 2015 to meet their commitments with Centro of 300 new buses being delivered by then. As we've said above, Dundee will be needing their fleet updating during 2015, deliveries will no doubt change year on year. There's nothing to stop NX adding to the 600 total if growth, operational needs or a further partnership agreement dictates otherwise.
