I am really looking forward to Central Buses roaming the streets of Coventry. Although NXC have been doing a good job with it recently, passenger numbers have increased considerably as I went on it last year with only around 3 people on it and the same time of the day this year had over 10 in just the Chapelfields section.
It will be very good if the new buses went onto the 1 giving a bit more variety in Coventry but I am sure that other routes could get a look in instead...

I think the new vehicles will end up on the 1 sometimes.

Why buy the Optare Versa for the 125 for them to come off there and then buy the Metrocity

According to Optare website, Versa holds 37 seats whilst Metrocity has 44.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I think this may be the answer...

According to my source Geoff Cross has said that he doesn't want the Versa's being used in Kidderminster anymore as they are getting very battered on the 125

Well I've failed to keep that quiet! They aren't the only vehicles to come this year though.

The reason why Central have bought these is since they were not impressed with the new Enviro 200 MMC. The demonstrator proved to be a failure amongst passenger's and drivers. I suggested to them to look into the Metrocity as an alternative option as Midland Classic had just taken some. When the company looked, they were very impressed.

Orders for Optare's Metrocity seem to be growing amongst smaller operator's, NAT have built up a large fleet of them having placed repeat orders for services around Newport. They're said to be producing exceptional fuel economy, which may well prove useful for Central on a long distance route such as the 125.

Allocation for them has not been decided yet so they could end up all over.

It doesn't matter where they're allocated, they should prove a good purchase either way
