I notice on the new hybrid branding of harborne services now all volvo b5h , bus featured in the ad is an enviro 400 , just thought I,d point it out.

Yes I noticed that too, NX usually have a better level of attention to detail

Seems to be the generic bus they use for all their adverts, I've noticed
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

*Cough, Cough* As seen in my signature *Cough, Cough* - I think it was mentioned before, that, with the ADL Contract, they hope to make the E400s the "Metrobuses of today", as in the 'new' West Mids 'signature' bus? Does anybody understand what i'm saying? ::)

The E400 won't ever be a WM signature bus in the way the Metrobus was. There are thousands of E400s all over the country. The Metrobus was built in Birmingham and whilst it was popular in London, few other operators bought them in great quantities like WMPTE and its successors did. The E400 has no local significance.

Yup, @Mike K, the E400 is nothing - an insignificant speck of nothingness in comparison to the greatness of the Metrobus. ;)

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

@Mike K @Liverpool Street - So, you did understand my post... Great! I understand that it would never replace the Metrobuses, but all i'm saying is that NX is looking as if it's trying to with these horrible, uniform buses. Not that there was anythingwrong with the uniformity of the Metrobus, but there were a couple with single line displays... Metrobuses over Enviros any day...  ;)

The Enviro400s will never replace the Metrobuses, but are destined to become the 'new' Tridents, bloody everywhere!  :-\

Has 5408 now gone? It was parked up in the yard at BC with its front lower panel missing a couple of days ago.
