Hey Guys.
Today was the 40Th year landmark of my school st thomas more and we had a service down at the civic in Wolverhampton. As NXWM operate the 701 & 703 they hired 16 buses from WN & WB garage. A few of the buses sent were: 4128 (I was on to w'ton), 4228 (I was on to school), 4528, 4505, 4558 & 4562. The company also created a special destination which I have exactly recreated on HELEN (of course all these buses are flip dots but I created them in LED). Just thought this was a bit interesting so thought I'd put it on here.

Trident 4609

So they also sent a bus from WA then (4128) aswell as WN and WB buses. 4562 is currently away for refurb so i highly doubt they used it ;)

Yes, I saw some of this as we at St Peters were walking back to school following our St Peter's Day Eucharist service. We have to be escorted by teachers now because of health and safety. I saw WA Tridents, WB ALX400s and Geminis and WN Tridents. Some displayed the special destination display and others just displayed 'Private Charter'. It was only WN Tridents that I saw with the special display.

So that was the school we saw. It would of been better if all buses showed the special display.

I thought St Peter's day was June 29th?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

@Stuharris 6360, you're right, I thought our Eucharist would have been next Friday or the following Monday.

13 buses were used on that job and the best part of 1000 kids were transported.

A lot of effort was put into making WN vehicles look there best due to the nature of the job. They looked fantastic all leaving the depot together as 7 were supplied from WN.

Anyone interested they were:4555, 4557, 4558, 4559, 4560, 4561, 4580.

I'd rather go on a coach!.. Lol.  service buses are not great for private hires

Are there any rules on having seatbelts fitted for this type of work these days? I remember as a kid going on school trips to the likes of Drayton Manor on Selly Oak Fleetlines but school trips seem to use coaches these days.

Not really Mike, no special requests from the school mate we did the blinds ourselves for the school and no legal requirements as far as I'm aware.
