At around 1:00 E249 was stopped on Moor St with ambulances and police cars around it, with a horde of police officers on the top deck surrounding what I assume was a person.

Could it have been to do with a group of Youngsters getting into the cab of a bus and attacking the driver punching him in the face, seen it on facebook

Yesterday evening around 9pm that was, so not the incident at 1pm.

I misread it I thought it said 1AM that's my bad, There has been arrest linked to the attack on the driver anyway the video on Facebook I saw was of a lad getting arrested with a teenage girl screaming so maybe the news received it late

It's getting concerning that more and more of these incidents are involving the younger generation. Do they seriously not have anything better to do and just beat up drivers for no reason. ( At least from what I read)?

The Rubery incident was last year, February 2024 according to that article.

Teenagers is becoming a big problem

Which is so annoying, like if drivers haven't had enough rubbish as it is from passengers.

in years gone by, FLEETLINES were adapted to take screens, i well remember seeing drivers fetching them, then of course Metro's had them as standard, even so i knew a driver on the loop at AG that always carried a wheel scotch plus a crow bar, so if anybody tried get in the cab they would get hit, as far as i know they were never used, my point being as the cab doors are so flimsy, is it not time bus drivers were given pepper spray or something, its a worrying outlook but drivers need to be protected, that or 2 man crews again.

I too, remember the retro-fitted Fleetline screens.

Not sure arming drivers with pepper spray is such a good idea, least of all leaving them liable to civil and criminal claims following use.

I'd be far happier with increased safer travel patrols or, as Wednesfield Local Neighbourhood Policing Team do, is start shift at Wednesfield Police Station and catch a 59 to Ashmore Park to start patrols. Whether that has any real deterrent, only time will tell, but unfortunately it's a generational behavioural thing.

We Need more Police on Buses, I know once I was on the 79 coming home from college and a lad bragged about the fact he had stabbed someone in Walsall and that he had a machete on him there, One other passenger was sat upstairs with me, him and his girlfriend I believe they reported it Safer Travel Police and the Driver, but if the Police were on that bus or inspected them they may have been able to take action, took him of, searched him, arrested him, he didn't seem aggressive but if the Driver had confronted him over say an Expired Ticket if he was actually carrying then god knows what he may done to the Driver or Supervisors at Wolverhampton Bus Station.

London United 20288 was involved in a fatal road accident in Harrow last night in which a woman died. It was on the 395. A man has been arrested by the Met and is assisting with inquiries. BBC.co.uk/london has the details of I've linked it right.
