It needs to be against a neutral background with a neutral expression.

The NX website says "All you need is a colour, passport sized digital photograph". it says nothing about a white background, so as long as you have a nice clear photo of yourself, passport size it should be ok.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

It's good practice to use a neutral background colour though.

I imagine it would have to be a passport sized passport style photo ie white background showing head and shoulders. Usually the passport photo booths are the easiest place tho to save a bit of money you could get someone to take the photo against a white background and then crop to the right size.

Maybe easier to complete on paper at a travel shop if you use a photo booth.

Also you are usually required to provide two photos if it is your first time applying for a pass. Not sure if NXWM use this system but probably worth bearing in mind.

Hope that helps!!

Sure if Tony is around, he will give us a definitive answer.

I've been using my own photo for my bus pass for a while now, I was stood in front of a wall (with light sky blue coloured wallpaper), then cropped it on the computer and printed a sheet of loads of them on photo paper. Much cheaper than paying to use a photo machine (As long as it's not for a passport etc)
I'm on Flickr and Youtube
