Can the 6 (walsall-Sutton) really be in danger of abandonment by NX........this dates back to early Walsall Corporation days.

I suspect more will follow tomorrow...

I'd be very surprised if it were. Whilst not the busiest of routes, it is still fairly well used - especially at college/school times when buses can be full. I'd imagine the most likely thing with the 6 would be the withdrawal of Evening buses (they've been trying to get rid of those for years!)

Could you see them introducing another sutton to city centre link and then onto Walsall to replace the 6 and create new links. I am just being random by the way. Call it the 906.

Likewise they're still using the 406 registration for the 46. I can see that getting broken up, it's essentially two routes as it is, as no journey goes all the way from Londonderry to Pheasey (at present)
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

301 / 302 - To amend stopping places ?

Change of stop in the Bus station?

Surely wouldn't require a Vosa change for that?

I guess in theory they could attempt to merge the 6 with the 902 or 905, but either way a significant chunk of a route would be lost, so I don't think it would be possible to do without upsetting many people. If the 6 were simply 'extended' to Birmingham, now all daytime 904's operate through to Falcon Lodge this couldn't be done without a frequency increase on that corridor.

Currently, the only part of the 6 route without a link to Birmingham (that is within the 'Birmingham' area) is the section between Aldridge-(just before) Mere Green. Obviously, due to the nature of people living in that area the main travellers are mainly either elderly/student residents or people travelling to Little Aston Hospital. I don't think a new link to Birmingham would be particularly needed, or well used for that area, especially considering the potential disruption it could cause reliability wise to the 6.

monkeyjoe

Yeah good point was just being random.

Tony

The 6 is not being withdrawn, or is it being extended anywhere, despite those changes on Vosa you will notice very little change about it

Bob

Changes with the X51 tony? I trust were still retaining our thrice daily cannock link? There was a b7rle on the evening trip yesterday saw it in bus station just after 7pm

The 6 is being re-timed in afternoon peak to improve reliability
