The two hospitals served had an arrangement with TDC for NHS staff needing to get to the other hospital to travel free I think?
If so then there was also some 'NHS' funding for TDC to do this as well.
Yes, it was a 30 min frequency for most of its time with de Courcey, and I think, for a time with A-Line Travel as well. I think it was largely commercial with de Courcey as well.

I didn't know A-Line Travel ran the 585? Do you have any details?
I am fairly sure A-Line Travel were down to run the new 360A and 360C service but weren't there some 'commercial' issues and IIRC thought that they never did. Instead didn't that work also go to TDC?
Can anyone advise?

Yes, the 360A/C were operated by TDC but traffic congestion meant the service suffered from delays which put people off from using it. The service, which was I believe Europe's longest bus route (surpassing the 11A/11C) was split up to improve timekeeping.

A-Line Travel ran the 585 from 1995 to 2002, when Travel de Courcey won the tender.

Midland Red South/Stagecoach ran it until 1994 (numbered 85 in 1990), then Wheels of Nuneaton gained the tender in 1994 (as 585) only to drop it after a few months.  Stagecoach took it back on emergency tender until a substantive contract was let the following year to A-Line.

A-Line's first bus service was the 539 Coventry - Stoneleigh - Kenilworth - Warwick, which was operated from 1994 to 1997.  Another notable service it ran was 777 Atherstone - Kingsbury - Coleshill - Birmingham Airport, which started in 1999 (Rural Bus Grant I think) but was lost on retender to Stagecoach in 2002.  There were many other bus services over the years.

I didn't know a loop of Coventry was further than Peterborough to Norwich
