Someone said 4781 is in for re-furb, any idea how it's progressing?

John

Tony reported it in for refurb on the 21st January. So it may be done within the next week or 2. I don't know how long a typical refurb takes

When I see it completed in the garage when it returns, I will post it

They said at the WA depot tour a Trident refurb is 4 weeks work for one man. But the Omnicity double deckers will not need such extensive work on them

John

Thanks for that Winston  ;)

Do you know if more than one person would work on one bus at the same time (shortening the amount of time the bus is been worked on)? Or if just one person was responsible for all of the refurb work on carried out on one bus?

John, from what we saw it was generally one man working on each of the ALX400 refurbs, re-panelling/re-glazing etc. I think they're were two men rubbing down one of BY's Omnilinks though

Thanks Winston. So a usual refurb for a decker will take usually around one month, maybe less if more than one person working on the bus, or the general pre-refurb condition is good (ie. OmniCitys)

4781 is now back at Perry Barr repainted
