The 50 doesn't need new buses I've wouldn't have thought; the 57 Enviros are still in an excellent condition. Although would be nice to have some new deckers for the 76, 2, 3 etc! If National Express are aiming to get rid of the Volvo B10Ls then I'd like to see a batch of 10 or so new Scanias ordered to replace the B10Ls at YW. Make sense to have a unified fleet at YW of single deckers rather than two.

The 50 has typically had a new fleet every 4/5 years previously, as the '50' is a high profile route for NXWM and faces competition from both Diamond & TGB, I would have thought that this would be priority over the 2, 12 & 76 at YW. Those routes would be more likely to see cascades from the 50 should that happen.

I'd have thought that NXWM would simply order B8RLE/Wright and either put a complete batch in to YW to replace B10L & cascade out the 22 x Omnilinks to another garage operating the type. Or AG could take B8RLE/Wright & cascade out 9 x Omnilinks to YW to allow the remaining B10L to be withdrawn

True Winston; didn't consider the fact the Enviro 400s on the 50 would cascade onto the 18, 76 etc. Having those would still be a massive improvement on the Tridents! Regarding the YW single deckers YW could just have around 10 extra Enviro 400s (or whatever replaces the E400) to replace the B10Ls. These could be used on the 6 instead of some of the Scanias, which in turn would operate the 27.

That's always an option as well, as the 6 can get pretty wedged with only Omnilinks but then there is the reduction in anti-social behavior to consider by retaining the single deckers. It can't be far off YW's turn now to receive a batch of new deckers or single deckers

Talk of early enviros still coming to pensnett and more tridents and walsalls b7 single deckers  coming to pensnett in 2014/5 to get rid of all the mercs

1. Remaining B6LE, B10L & Mercs all need to be replaced
2. 11A & 11C, 45/47, 50, 61/63, 82/87 & 94
3. WB more new vehicles than the promised £3 Million investment, YW hasn't had anything new since 2010 & AG (Either for the Outer Circle or the concentration of Presidents needs to be reduced)
4. None confirmed

I think the 50 are far from another upgrade... Possibly PB services such as 16, or even more so, 101. Granted, they have some Omnicity's on there, occasionally (Yes, including 101, VERY RARE), but I would like to see a change of bus... But in my opinion, I'd prefer to see a change on the 101 than the 16, with more Enviros than the 101, they both practically serve the same route, with usually the same buses (101 generally B7TL operated)

The 16 could be a possibilty with two lots of competition on the route from Diamond & GRS, but PB has had it's far share of new double deckers over the last two years. Can't see the 101 getting anything other than newer cascades

The 50 isn't in dire need of an upgrade, but as stated earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if it did get upgraded, the benefit from this would be cascades of either Enviros or Tridents to other garages. I can't see the 101 getting upgraded over the 16 or 94, but time will tell.

NXWM news item, dated 14th Jan 2014 about the new buses for the Sutton routes, mentions 300 new buses to come, which we have seen before, but this time says "over the next three years". Is this an error or a change in policy?

I don't think 50 will not be seeing any new soon because there only branded last year

Kevin

I keep seeing mention of "new buses coming for Sutton routes" it makes it sound like there's more coming to replace the E400s they've just got
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....
