Bus routes which are never the only route serving a road

Bit of a complicated one, but my mind was wondering this evening and I was trying to think of as many bus routes in the West Mids that are never the only bus route serving any stretch of road; that is, routes which share every bus stop with at least one other route.

So I thought I'd see how many you lot can come up with.

Routes from all operators count, but school routes or other occasional services (e.g. BC 23A) are discounted.

I'll start off with the example of the 140 at Pensnett, which shares with the 241 Dudley - Quinton Stag, then the 141 Quinton Stag - Birmingham.

WN 59 has the many routes on Pipers Row, The 1 on Queen St, 3,4,89 on Princess St, several buses on Broad St so that's the City Centre Loop covered,

The 59 then shares Wolverhampton to Deans Rd junction with the 28,69,82 and 89 with the 69/89 following the 59 to just past Wednesfield with the 89 sharing Lichfield RD with the 59 with the 69 splitting off then rejoining the Lichfield Red.

Then Peacock Avenue/ Ashmore Park loop is also served by the 28 so the 59 is served by at least one other nx route on every section of road it uses

The 51 surely has other NX routes along the whole route

If other operators are included then the 10 shares its route with the 517. And the 5 (WN) shares its whole route with Banga 535 and 634

Would be tempted to say the 225 or 226 or 226W

225 follows the 226 route Merry hill to Kingswinford

226 follows the 225 route Merry hill to Kingswinford, 256/257 to Wordsley Hospital, 657 to Bromley Lane, 255 to Tiled House Lane, 226W route to High Oak, 297 to Russell's Hall Hosp then 246/310 to Dudley.

226W is as above bit then continues to Dudley via the 74 route...

50 - follows the same road as the 50A/150/X50 to Maypole then the 49 to the Druids Heath terminus...

The 9?

That's an interesting one, but not quite!

298/299 Stourbridge to Lye
240 Lye to Colley Gate
002/004 Colley Gate to Windsor School
4H Windsor School to Earls Roundabout
then through the high street to the bus station
002 Halesowen to Spies Lane
202 for a couple of stops along Spies Lane

The 202 then turns off and the short stretch of road between there and Quinton Church (including one bus stop towards Stourbridge) is served only by the 9.

Then joins 140/141 to the city centre.

......erm, yes, the X51......

Of course ;D. I don't know how I forgot about the the X51.

Matt, Would the 51/X51 count with the X51 being an express variant of the 51?

Stu

Can't really think of many round here, only one that really springs to mind is the 5A; follows the 6 route from City Centre to Three Maypoles, then of course follows the normal 5 route to Solihull.

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Technically the X51 serves all roads on the 51, just not all stops

The X51 yes, but not necessarily the 51 as it doesn't share every bus stop with the X51

The 129 (and come to think of it, the 127) is never the only route serving a road:
Between Birmingham & Warley, George - 127, 128 stop wherever the 129 stops
Between Warley, George & Bristnall Hall Road - 128 stops wherever the 129 stops
Between Bristnall Hall Road & Eva Road - 55 stops wherever the 129 stops
Between Eva Road & Salop Road - 54 stops wherever the 129 stops
Between Hurst Road & Queens Road - 48, 53 stops wherever the 129 stops
Between Queens Road & West Bromwich - 48 stops wherever the 129 stops
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
Local Routes: 21, 89, 48/A, 12/A, 54/A
Semi-local routes: 80, 87

The 6? Shares stops as far as Springfield with the 5 then the X20 starts stopping more and I think it shares all stops to Robin Hood Island, then of course the 76 joins it.
