today's RouteOne has IF saying they didn't carry out proper due diligence in the rush to buy Brown's and confirms that D&G have purchased Baker's bus business.

isn't clear whether or not it is going to be an operator - at one point it says they will coaches from other operators in the group and then refers to saving jobs, with IF blaming the previous owners, as they did with Henderson.

Yes you buy a business that the owner are selling because it is loss making, fail to turn it around, and blame the people who sold you a company that you knew was loss making! I ahve heard a lot of the newer coaches at Bakers have also left for other IF companies. There is a lot of legal jiaggary pokery going on at the moment with company names and directors as well

It does all seem very odd...

First, great news jobs are being saved by D and G, a reputable company. It allows network consolidation as well which is only good for passengers.

But Route One are always keen to stress the directors of Island Fortitude are unknown...

They offered to buy Padarn Bus in the summer as well, so clearly not just in divestment mode

Anyone heard anything about other companies in the group?!

Judging by vehicle transfers to and from Bakers and Tate in "Buses" Mr Harrison has been  involved with IF for some time.

The problems deepen for Bakers and Island Fortitude, taken from route one this week:

The only place this is going to end is with a load of people out of work and several once-reputable operators destroyed. The criminal backgrounds of the two main men involved speak for themselves. Peter Baker Snr must be turning in his grave.
