I did a few years back I seen 1458 on the 84 :)

1458 used to be the regular 84 bus, before the 84 was interworked with the 448 and operated by West Bromwich. I have a picture on flickr of Gemini 4717 on the 84 in Cotteridge.

When the 448 was extended to Bartley Green, and the 84 went back to Yardley Wood, it is usually just 1 OmniLink that runs the 84

What's the story with 1458 then? I notice the LED and Hanover side display, but wonder what was special about it?

And why was it reseated at refurb?

Yarlwood 27 route. Sometimes lucky enough to get one on the 18 as well.

1458 was a pilot refurb to make it DDA compliant with a view to treating the whole B10L fleet, it involved rebuilding the front entrance to accommodate a built-in wheel chair ramp, it was re-seated to provide the required designated areas plus had LED destinations all round. The project never went any further than 1458!

Thanks Winston, it comes back to me now! We wondered why it was withdrawn earlier than the others a year back despite having all the extra money spent
