There's a few De Courcey service changes on Vosa today... but I have a feeling the two cancellations could be an error and are meant to be amended timetable?
(such errors have happened before on De Courcey registrations).

So the 11A/11C becomes the longest 'urban' bus route again!

Must say I am a bit surprised, well not so much about the service being withdrawn but the quickness of it, it only started in June and within six months it's notice was handed in.  Another disaster for Centro to mop up, but I hope the replacement services, regardless of operator, will have simpler route numbers. Also hoping their remaining three digit service numbers will renumber into the 51 to 99 range very soon.

The entire route is being 'handed back'?! Oh dear, what a mess. So much for all that fanfare in the summer - will Centro patch-up the gaps with replacement services? Presumably it was too much to handle; staff, fuel & maintenance costs etc against revenue.

I suppose that's the negative with routes of such length.

Probably would've found it easier if it started out as a couple of shorter runs either way.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

It was basically that prior to the formation of the 360A/360C - essentially the joining together of the lengthy routes 701 and 801 (plus according to my own notes the 704 and Schools service 95) all from 9th June 2013. So a life of just seven and a half months.

Centro have tendered a 63 week contract, for 8/9/10 bus variations of the current 360 service

Cheers. It seems the proverb "Combine routes in haste repent at leisure!" Springs to mind.

That is a big requirement for a tendered bus route isn't it? Could DeCourcey win it back under tender as other than NXC or Diamond I cannot see any other company being able to run it?

I suspect another operator falling into the trap of "a bus service to the hospital is essential" survey results, when in reality almost everyone attending a hospital either gets a lift off a friend or rings for a taxi and is useless to staff because it doesn't cover three shift working so staff still need a car and parking permit.
