Its also worth pointing out ALX400 can cover 2 completely different vehicle types, as can Dennis Trident 2

It can cover 3 different vehicle types really

A bus consists of two elements, the chassis, and the bodywork.

Alexander ALX400 is a bodywork, Dennis Trident is a chassis. Some bodyworks are exclusive to one chassis type, while some can be found on several.

For example, NXWM's Plaxton Presidents are built on Volvo B7TL chassis, but other operators also have them on Dennis Trident chassis.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Not in the NXWM fleet, only 2, the Trident's and the 42** B7TLs. Only Arriva mainly operate the ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LF

No, in the NXWM fleet, I meant the Tridents. Some will disagree but I treat the Voith and the ZF Tridents as two different buses. Then of course you have the 07/57 and 09 plate Tridents with Enviro400 bodywork.

So the Poll is called "dislike of types of vehicle" - misleading much?
Also, missing various buses from there - Eclipses old and new?
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

Still the same chassis, the two gearbox types were optional.

Hence I said some will disagree.

I travelled on 5409 again today. I think it is my favourite NXWM bus. The engine start up and shut down is smoother than the Volvo hybrids and the engine is quieter. The start with engine not running is sharper than the Volvo's because it is using full power, particularly when starting uphill from Snow Hill. I hope we shall get a few more of them.

Probably favourite current bus is 1922 is YW

If you haven't already, I'd recommend a ride on 1926.

Still trying to track 1926 down on the 6! Never seem to find it. Keep getting 1912 and 1925 now; 1925 is a very good Scania btw. Excellent suspension and fast running.

It's a bit like saying an auto ford focus isn't a ford focus cause I prefer manual

It's the same bus. Some will disagree? Well the ones to agree must be lost... Lol.

Anyway yeah, gearbox is different, doesn't make the whole chassis different.
